Eugene E. Schranz of Hamburg, a retired Ford Stamping Plant worker, died Sunday in Father Baker Manor, Orchard Park. He was 81.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Schranz was a signalman in the Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific.
He was a machine repairman for Ford for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Schranz was a member of Hamburg Council 2220, Knights of Columbus, and Hamburg Township Post 1419, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Zilliox Schranz; three daughters, Mary Ann Swift of the Town of Hamburg, Elizabeth Gleason of the Village of Hamburg and Laura Egan of Lake View; five sons, Gerald of West Seneca, Thomas of the Village of Hamburg, Ronald of the Town of Hamburg, Edward of Rochester and Robert of Houston; a brother, William of Cheektowaga; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Athol Springs, after prayers in O'Connell-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, North Evans.
