Woodrow H. Rathman of Cheektowaga, a retired Fedders Corp. employee and amateur magician, died Sunday in Williamsville View Manor, Amherst, after a long illness. He was 91.
The Buffalo native attended local schools, graduating from Fosdick-Masten Park High School.
He worked for 45 years as a stationary engineer at Fedders in Buffalo, retiring in the late 1970s.
Mr. Rathman was a longtime member of Pilgrim-St. Luke's United Church of Christ, serving on the board of trustees and the building and grounds committee.
He was a life member of the Ring International Brotherhood of Magicians. For 58 years, he was a member of the brotherhood's Order of Martin Degree, and he served as head of the brotherhood's Junior Ring.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, the former Dorothy B. Kraatz; two daughters, Marianne M. of Buffalo and the Rev. Jane E. of Port Huron, Mich.; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be scheduled. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
