>Couple accused of taking clothing worth $1,500

Lancaster police arrested a husband-wife team on shoplifting charges over the weekend following the theft of clothing worth $1,500 from the Kohl's Department Store on Transit Road, detectives said Monday.

Lancaster Officers Jason Batt and Michael Carvelli arrested Scott Ackerman, 42, and his wife, Denise, 40, of West Seneca, on petit larceny charges after recovering clothing worth $925 from him and $584 from her, police said.

The officers also said they found $5,107 and 23 Loritab tablets in a jacket in the couple's vehicle, along with $1,400 on Scott Ackerman.
