SnoFest begins next week

The Town of Hamburg Recreation Department's SnoFest will take place at the Town Arena from Sunday through next Friday, while many students are off from school for winter break.

Among the new events is the Family Ice Olympics, in which families compete as teams in events on and off the ice.

Events are free, with the exception of public skating, which costs from $3 to $5.

The schedule:

Sunday -- 1 p.m., mascot hockey game; 2 to 3 p.m., public skating.

Next Monday -- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., snow sculpture contest; 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., public skating.

Feb. 21 -- 10 to 11 a.m., hockey skills challenge; 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., public skating.

Feb. 22 -- 10 to 11 a.m., Family Ice Olympics; 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., public skating.

Feb. 23 -- 10 to 11 a.m., hockey skills challenge; 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., public skating.

Feb. 24 -- 10 to 11 a.m., figure skating exhibition by Skate Great; 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and 8 to 9:50 p.m., public skating.
