Oresto T. Spade, a longtime Niagara Falls carpenter and a World War II veteran, died Saturday in the New York State Veterans Home, Batavia, after a brief illness. He was 90.
Mr. Spade was born in Hulberton and attended local schools. He served in the Army from July 1942 to November 1945 and saw action as a platoon sergeant in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
Mr. Spade lived in Niagara Falls for many years, working primarily as a self-employed carpenter. He moved to Medina nine years ago.
His wife, Patricia Mallimaci Spade, died in 1995.
Surviving is a sister, Alice Nenni of Tucson, Ariz.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Albion.
