Jean M. Gagne, a beautician at Haircrafters, died Saturday in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a two-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. She was 65.
Born Jean Hill in Olean, she grew up in Niagara Falls and had lived in the City of Tonawanda for the last 38 years.
Until November 2004, Mrs. Gagne had been a beautician at Haircrafters in the D&L Plaza in Depew for 25 years.
She was a 1958 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph; a daughter, Janine Yager of North Tonawanda; a son, Jerry of North Tonawanda; her mother, Nellie Hildebrandt of Niagara Falls; a sister, Sheryl Ancheta of California; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in John O. Roth Funeral Home, 25 William St., City of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
