Elizabeth McDougald of Buffalo died from cancer Monday in Erie County Medical Center, where she had worked for two decades as a dietary aide. She was 62. Born Elizabeth Moore in Chester, S.C., she attended school there and moved to Buffalo in 1955. She worked as a dietary aide at ECMC for 20 years before retiring in 1992.
Mrs. McDougald enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, spending time with her family, playing cards and giving advice to others.
Her husband, John H. Sr., died in 2001.
Survivors, who all live in Buffalo, include four daughters, Arcinda McDougald, Triscilla McDougald, Cintrella Quince and Dorinda McDougald; a son, John H. McDougald Jr.; six sisters, Mary Moore, Sarah Joywer, Janice Drayton, Shirley Hunter, Cornelius Caldwell and Delores Moore; one brother, Leonard Cooper Jr.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, followed by funeral services at noon in Emanuel Temple, 151 Richmond Ave, Buffalo. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
