George D. Burton, retired cabinetmaker
July 1, 1915 -- Feb 10, 2006

George D. Burton, a retired cabinetmaker, died Friday in Wyoming County Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was 90.

The Swain native was employed for 27 years as a cabinetmaker for the former Robeson Cutlery Co. in Perry. He retired in 1977.

A collector of carnival glass, Warsaw memorabilia, political buttons, beer taps and rulers with advertising slogans, he enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales.

He also was a fan of NASCAR.

Mr. Burton was a life member of Moose Lodge 560, Warsaw.

Surviving are his wife Joan; two stepsons, Warren Meidenbauer of Warsaw and Russell Meidenbauer of Wyoming; two stepdaughters, Sue Schell of Warsaw and Patricia McIlroy of Piffard; and several grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
