University at Buffalo football coach Turner Gill will present his staff and discuss his plans for the team at Monday's meeting of the WNY Football Coaches' Association.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Elks Club, 33 Legion Parkway, Lancaster. All football coaches, from youth leagues through college, are welcome. Call Brad Dietsch at 759-0449.


BASKETBALL: Open tryouts for boys AAU teams, 12-under and 15-under, will be held 4 p.m. today, 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Feb. 18. Call 432-3586. . . . The WNY Hoosiers AAU organization is looking for "accelerated" players to try out for the 11-under team. Call Al at 646-1922.


BOXING: The Olympia Boxing Gym, 300 Pearl St., will host a free USA Boxing accreditation clinic for officials, referees and coaches. The clinic will take place at 11 a.m. today and will be conducted by gym director and former light heavyweight contender Jimmy Ralston. For more information, call 578-4733.
GOLF: Amputees and other people with disabilities who want to take up golf or improve their game are invited to a clinic today at the Wehrle Golf Dome in Williamsville. Creative Orthotics and Prosthetics, Physability Golf Fitness and the Eastern Amputee Golf Association are co-sponsoring the clinic, to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in signing up is asked to send an e-mail to John Michael Goff at, or call (607) 738-8120.


LIFEGUARD CLASSES: The Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation Department will conduct two American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Courses at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. One course will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from Feb. 18 to March 26. The other class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 20-24. Cost for each class is $70 with is due at registration and $60.90 the first day of class. To register, stop at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic & Fitness Center, or call 876-7424.


RUNNING: Online registration is now open for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sept. 24 in Toronto. The first 500 U.S. and international runners will receive free baseball tickets for a game between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays on either Sept. 23 or 24. SOFTBALL: Cheektowaga's recreation department will hold registration for adult leagues 6-9 p.m. Monday through next Friday at the Alexander Community Center, 275 Alexander Ave. Men's, women's and coed leagues begin on May 1. Call Tim White at 897-7207, ext. 18.
