Sylvia Morris Nov. 8, 1910 -- Feb. 9, 2006

Services for Sylvia Morris, a longtime volunteer in area Jewish organizations, were held today in Birchwood Mausoleum in Forest Lawn.

Mrs. Morris died Thursday in Canterbury Woods Nursing Home, Amherst, after a brief illness. She was 95.

Born Sylvia Lyon in Bradford, Pa., she and her husband, the late architect Melvin Morris, lived for many years in North Buffalo.

She was a member of Hadassah and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Zion, where she was especially active in providing services to the blind.
