Robert A. Bey of Attica, a self-employed truck driver, died Wednesday at the home of his son, Robert A. Jr., after a long illness. He was 62.
The Batavia native served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965 aboard the USS Enterprise. He played guitar in the Navy Band.
He worked as an independent truck driver for 35 years.
Mr. Bey also enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his former wife, Peggy of Warsaw; three daughters, Tammy Courtwright of Bradenton, Fla., Bobbie Phelps of Attica and Annette Velletta of Chestertown; a brother, Carl Garbe of Bloomington, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday in Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica, is private.
