John T. Ryan, who worked for more than 35 years in shipping and receiving at Habasit Belting, Buffalo, died Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness. He was 56.
The Lockport native attended local schools.
He was drafted into the Army in 1967 during the Vietnam War and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
Mr. Ryan enjoyed fishing, roller skating and watching old movies.
Survivors include a sister, Ann E. Phillips of Lockport, and a brother, Michael M. of Niagara Falls.
Services will be at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport.
