Man charged with rape involving girl, 15

RANDOLPH -- A Little Valley man who allegedly had sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl was arraigned Monday on rape charges, Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies reported.

Dale R. Wagatha Jr., 23, was charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

Sheriff's officials said their investigation revealed Wagatha allegedly had sexual contact with the girl, but they didn't stipulate when the contact occurred.

Wagatha was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail pending a future date in Randolph Town Court.

Man held in sale of pot to undercover officer

WELLSVILLE -- Wellsville police Tuesday charged Asa A. Richardson, 24, of Wellsville, with fourth-degree criminal marijuana sale.

Police said they executed an arrest warrant to take Richardson into custody.

He's accused of selling marijuana to an undercover officer from the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Village Justice Will Goetschius arraigned Richardson on Tuesday and released him on his own recognizance. Richardson is scheduled to reappear in court Feb. 28.

Drunken driving, car theft charges filed

WELLSVILLE -- Anthony Frungillo, 49, of Wellsville, was sent to the Allegany County jail Wednesday on drunken driving and car theft charges.

Village police arrested him on charges of driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both felonies, and third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle Tuesday night.

Police said a Wellsville resident said Frungillo took her car from a South Main Street business without her permission.

Officers said they found him intoxicated at the wheel of the car, charged and held him in their lockup for arraignment Wednesday morning.

Sheriff's deputies said Village Justice Will Goetschius sent Frungillo to jail in lieu of $1,000 bail with a reappearance scheduled for Feb. 28, and he remained in jail Wednesday.

Guilty plea in sex act, burglary try lead to jail

BELMONT -- Corry M. Blouvet III, 45, of Allentown, was sentenced Tuesday to a year in the Allegany County Jail.

He pleaded guilty last month to third-degree criminal sexual act and second-degree attempted burglary.

Assistant District Attorney Keith Slep said Allegany County Judge James E. Euken also ordered Blouvet to take part in the county's sex offender treatment program.

He was charged after having sex with a relative unable to consent and of breaking into a home and stealing personal property, said Slep.

The incidents took place in August in Alma.

Drug, weapons charges faced by two in Dunkirk

DUNKIRK -- Police arrested two people on drug and weapons charges after they were called to a vacant Deer Street home earlier this week.

Officers said that when they entered a house in the 200 block of Deer on Monday, they found a small amount of marijuana and a loaded gun.

They arrested Michael Young, 17, and Henry Smith Jr., 20, on felony counts of criminal trespass, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. They were sent to City Jail pending arraignment.

Two juvenile girls were turned over to their parents and will likely face charges in Family Court, police said.
