Margaret M. Shank, enthusiastic bowler Oct. 3, 1922 -- Feb. 7, 2006

NIAGARA FALLS -- Margaret M. Shank, a former bowler, died Tuesday at home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was 83.

Born Margaret Jamieson in Niagara Falls, Ont., she attended Simcoe School.

An enthusiastic bowler, she was a member of several teams and leagues in the 1960s and 1970s and had appeared on the former local TV show "Strikes, Spares and Misses."

Mrs. Shank also enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and playing cards. Her family said her front porch was a popular gathering spot for family, friends, and neighbors.

Her husband of 52 years, Dale F., died in 2002.

Survivors include four sons, Dale L. of Ransomville, Paul of Las Vegas, James of Niagara Falls and Gary of San Diego; a daughter, Paula Shank Drew of Corona, Calif.; a brother, William Jamieson of Niagara Falls, Ont.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
