JAMESTOWN -- Police charged four men Monday with breaking into a man's apartment on East Fourth Street and assaulting him.
Peter J. Jones, 27, and three teenagers were arrested shortly after midnight and charged with burglary, assault and criminal mischief.
Police said they stopped the suspects' vehicle at Foote Avenue and East Second Street.
The victim, who called police on his cell phone, was treated in WCA Hospital for facial wounds and possible internal injuries.
>Arrest made in assault on 83-year-old man
An East Side man was arrested late Sunday night after he allegedly hit an 83-year-old man in the head with a cast iron skillet and a cane with a brass handle, police said.
The victim, who shares an address with the suspect on Schutrum Street, suffered a 2-inch laceration on the top of his head and a possible broken finger. He was treated in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The suspect, Rodney Bark, 47, was charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
