BERGHOLZ -- Sonia M. Korpolinski, a former pharmacy technician, died Sunday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. She was 66.
Mrs. Korpolinski, known as "Toni," was born Sonia Schellhaaff in Niagara Falls, where she graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958.
She worked as a pharmacy technician at Jay's Drugs in Lewiston until 1980, when she moved to Rome, N.Y., where she was employed as an emergency room technician at Rome Memorial Hospital. She returned to this area in 1994 and worked at the
B-Kwik Market in Sanborn until 2004.
Mrs. Korpolinski was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cambria. She enjoyed travel, especially cruises, dancing and gardening. She also enjoyed caring for her dog, Nugget.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Richard; two sons, Richard G. of Youngstown and Duane of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Ruth Fair of Oswego and Patricia Austin of Rome; a lifelong friend, Lynne McDougall of Bergholz; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church, 4625 Cambria-Lewiston Townline Road, after prayers at 9:15 in Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
