Grand Island High School receives bomb threat
Grand Island High School students began their week in lockdown after someone phoned in a bomb threat to 911 at 7:10 a.m. today.
The doors to the building were locked once students arrived. Students are not allowed to move from room to room in lockdown mode.
Grand Island Middle School students, who share the Ransom Road complex with the high school, initially were held outside on school buses. The middle school day starts about two hours after the high school.
The Sheriff's Department and state troopers conducted a sweep of the building, using bomb-sniffing dogs.
