Swormville Fire Company gets $208,294 federal grant

The Swormville Fire Company received $208,294 in federal aid through the Assistance to Firefighter Grants program of the Department of Homeland Security, Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds, R-Clarence, announced recently.

The fire company purchased 30 self-contained breathing apparatus units with one grant of $130,788. The second grant, for $77,506, will be used for miscellaneous fire equipment.

Reynolds said he will be hosting training seminars to aid local fire companies in applying for the new, competitive federal aid.
