Betty Marie Fisher, a housewife and resident of East Amherst, died Thursday after a long illness in Sisters Hospital. She was 70.
Born Betty Marie Boganey in Coffeyville, Kan., she graduated from high school and completed one year of college.
She moved to Western New York in 1977 with her husband, the Rev. Joe L. Fisher, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Buffalo.
Mrs. Fisher enjoyed sewing, singing, traveling, giving to others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She received many church-affiliated awards and honors.
Besides her husband of 48 years, she is survived by a daughter, Diana Marie Reeves of East Amherst; two sons, Stephen L. of Amherst and Dale E. of Perrysburg, Ohio; three sisters, Mary H. Spears and Marbelle R. Lane, both of Muskegon, Mich., Vivian Fisher of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, Howard E. Boganey of Chicago and Eugene P. Boganey of Muskegon; six grandchil-
dren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Friendship Baptist Church, 402 Clinton St., where viewing will begin at 10.
Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
