Theresa E. Dunne, a Clarence resident and former waitress, died Thursday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst after a brief illness. She was 83.
Born Theresa Doonan in Edgewater, N.J., she attended George Washington High School in New York City. She moved to Clarence in 1969.
From 1971 to 1989, she worked as a waitress at the Old Red Mill Inn in Clarence.
Mrs. Dunne belonged to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Clarence, was a volunteer at Brothers of Mercy in Clarence and was an active member of her parish and the parish guild.
Her husband of 39 years, Terence, died in 1981.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth of Buffalo and Theresa Creasey of The Woodlands, Texas; five sons, Terence of Carbondale, Colo., Matthew and Kevin, both of Chicago, Kenneth of Dover, Del., and Timothy of Norman, Okla.; a sister, Rita Dolan of Willis, Conn.; a brother, Michael Doonan of Rockaway; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 11:15 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 8440 Main St., Clarence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 8500 Main St., Clarence.
