Margaret C. Hanna died Friday in Northgate Health Care Facility after a short illness. She was 97.
Born Margaret Leary in St. Catharines, Ont., she came to the Niagara Falls area with her parents in the 1920s and was naturalized in 1942. She worked as an accounting clerk at Kimberly-Clark Credit Union for about 20 years, until she retired in the late 1960s.
Mrs. Hanna was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church and its Grace Jahn Class. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Her husband of 35 years, Harry E. Sr., died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, Harry Jr. of Wheatfield; three daughters, Nancy Weicht of Bedford, Texas, Margaret Ball of Wilmington, N.C., and Sandra Wiegand of Bergholz; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Monday in St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls. Interment will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park.
