Joyce M. Martinez of North Tonawanda, a former waitress and short-order cook, died Tuesday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 65.
She was born Joyce Dunning in Fort Erie, Ont., and moved to Niagara Falls when she was 8. She moved to North Tonawanda eight years ago. Mrs. Martinez formerly worked in production at Omtech for 13 years and as a waitress and short-order cook at various area restaurants. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise G. Hagar of Niagara Falls; a sister, Loralee Wilson of North Tonawanda; three brothers, Kenneth Dunning of Florida, Donald Dunning of New Jersey and Alvin Dunning of Nebraska; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held today in Lane Funeral Home, Niagara Falls. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
