SILVER CREEK -- Frances Pelletter, a retired beautician, died Wednesday in Lake Shore Nursing Home. She was 93.
Born in Bagherra, Sicily, she was a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Dunkirk Business School and the School of Cosmetology.
Miss Pelletter had worked in her family's grocery store and later owned and operated Curly Top Beauty Shop in Silver Creek for 30 years.
A member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she was a Eucharistic minister, charter member of the parish social club and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Miss Pelletter also was a charter member of the Silver Creek Senior Citizens and a member of the Hairdressers Association and a local sewing club.
A world traveler, she had visited the Holy Land, Vietnam, Alaska, Italy, Spain, Mexico, France, Russia and many parts of the United States. She also took a cruise around the world.
Survivors include a brother, Philip S. of Fredonia, and a sister, Mary Lou Pagano of Silver Creek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 165 Central Ave. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
