Christine Wheeler, taught adult education Oct. 4, 1946 -- Jan. 31, 2006

Christine F. Wheeler, who taught adult-education classes, died Tuesday in Nazareth Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was 59.

Born Christine Nash in Salamanca, she had lived in Westfield for 27 years and taught general education diploma classes for 19 years for Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Educational Services.

She moved to Buffalo last August.

She was active in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Westfield and St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in Buffalo. She was a Eucharistic minister, Sunday school teacher and church warden.

Mrs. Wheeler was a Yankees and Bills fan.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Charles R.; her parents, Clarence and Frances Nash of Salamanca; a sister, Carolyn Osborn of Waterloo; and a brother, Dr. David B. Nash of Canfield, Ohio.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca.
