Olive S. Kempf, a former Williamsville resident and a retired school librarian, died of heart failure Tuesday in Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira. She was 90.
Born Olive Simpson in Buffalo, she earned a bachelor's degree from D'Youville College and a second bachelor's degree in library science from the University of Buffalo.
She was librarian at Tonawanda Junior High School, retiring in the late 1970s. She was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Williamsville. She moved to Horseheads in the early 1980s.
Her husband, Joseph N., died in 1983. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Edwards of Horseheads; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Our Mother Catholic Church, Horseheads. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
