Marjorie K. Patterson, News head cashier Nov. 1, 1931 -- Jan. 23, 2006

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie K. Patterson, a retired employee of The Buffalo News, will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 2049 George Urban Boulevard, Depew.

Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Lancaster.

Mrs. Patterson, of Cheektowaga, died Jan. 23 in Erie County Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was 74.

Born Marjorie Kroll in Buffalo, she graduated from East High School and attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.

Mrs. Patterson worked at The News for 42 years. She retired in 1993 as head cashier.

She was a 30-year member of the Buffalo Gateway Chapter of Sweet Adelines.

Mrs. Patterson also was a member of St. Barnabas Church and a former member of the choir there and at St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

She was a member of a Dominican Sisters laity group.

Survivors include her mother, Stephanie Kroll of Cheektowaga.
