Edward A. Maguder, manager, postal clerk July 11, 1952 -- Jan. 31, 2006

A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward A. Maguder will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3148 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, after prayers at 9 in Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road, Orchard Park. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.

Mr. Maguder died of heart failure Tuesday in his Lackawanna home. He was 53.

He worked as a postal clerk at the North Side Station in Buffalo.

Born in Buffalo, he attended Bishop Ryan High School and studied history at Niagara County Community College before graduating from Buffalo State College with a degree in marketing.

He was employed by Tops Markets from 1968 until 1993 and managed its store on Transit Road in Lancaster before joining the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, a member and past president of Canisius College Alumni Sodality and a former member of Lancaster-Depew Lions Club and Knights of St. John.

Surviving are his wife, the former Andrea S. Szymczak; two daughters, Lindsay Carter of West Seneca and Ashley of Lackawanna; his parents, Edward W. and Dorothy of Buffalo; two sisters, Nancy Domroes of Depew and Karen Russell of Cheektowaga; and two brothers, Richard of Hamburg and Joseph of West Seneca.
