Arline McLean, retired social worker Dec. 2, 1910 -- Jan. 27, 2006

Arline I. McLean, a longtime North Tonawanda resident and retired social worker, died Friday in the Lutheran Home, Salisbury, N.C. She was 95.

Born Arline Moll in North Tonawanda, she graduated from North Tonawanda High School and earned a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Buffalo.

She was a a social worker for the Children's Aid Society in Buffalo.

Mrs. McLean also volunteered for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Carousel Society, Friedens United Church of Christ and Save-A-Pet in Niagara County.

She moved to North Carolina in 2003 to be near her daughter, Janet Nixon of Cornelius, N.C. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services are private. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
