Trips to New York City, Florida and Arizona are among items to be auctioned at the annual Blue Moon Gala to benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York. The event will be held May 13 in the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, starting with cocktails at 7 p.m. "New York -- New York" will be the theme.
Robert E. Rich III, president of ROAR Logistics, and Tom Fogarty, general manager of West-Herr Toyota, are chairmen of the event, which this year will feature a sit-down dinner. Also featured will be music by Brimstone, dancing, and silent and live auctions of items that include jewelry, sports memorabilia and a guitar autographed by the Goo Goo Dolls. Mary Beth Wrobel of WIVB-TV, Channel 4, will be the master of ceremonies.
More than 500 guests are expected to attend this year's gala that organizers hope will raise over $155,000 for the association, which provides patient and family services, education, advocacy and research in support of the more than 50,000 people in Western New York who have Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
Tickets are $125 and tables of 10 are available for $1,000. For information, call 626-0600 or log on to www.alzwny.org.
