LONDONS CALLING: TWINS CAUSE CONFUSION

Q: In the 1991 movie "The Man in the Moon," the star was a young man named Jason London, and he looked very much like Jeremy London ("7th Heaven"). I was satisfied that it was the same person changing his name. Then came the recent Hallmark Channel movie "Out of the Woods," starring Jason London, and now I think he and Jeremy are not the same person. What is the answer? -- Barbara Bartlett, Plant City, Fla.

A: In a word, "twins." The two actors are identical siblings. In fact, Jason stepped in for Jeremy in an "I'll Fly Away" sequel movie when Jeremy, who co-starred in the original series, was unavailable for the film.

Q: I would like to know how old Doris Day is and also how many movies she made. -- Joseph Lotridge, Burton, Mich.

A: Our main resource for such information gives her birthday as April 3, 1924, and cites her as a presence in 40 films between 1948 and 1968. Several of her movies are being released on DVD for the first time during the next couple of weeks, including "Love Me or Leave Me," "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," "The Glass Bottom Boat," and the last movie Day has made to date, the blended-family comedy "With Six You Get Eggroll."

Q:I feel sure I have seen Kelli Williams in another TV series, but I can't remember what it was. Can you help? -- Marge, Columbus, Ohio

A: Before starting her role on NBC's "Medical Investigation," the actress spent six years as Lindsay on ABC's law drama "The Practice," prior to the transformation that turned the show into the current "Boston Legal." Williams' mother, actress Shannon Wilcox, played her mom in the past holiday season's Hallmark Channel movie "A Boyfriend for Christmas."

Q: I recently watched "Jerry Maguire" on cable. What is Cuba Gooding Jr. doing these days? -- Renee Grant, Ogden, Utah

A: Since winning an Oscar for that 1996 film, he has made other movies such as "Men of Honor," "Pearl Harbor," "Rat Race," "The Fighting Temptations" and "Radio." Gooding has two projects scheduled for release later this year, "Shadowboxer" and "Dirty," and he currently is filming a thriller titled "End Game."

Q: Jami Gertz of "Still Standing" is not the same person who played Jo on "The Facts Of Life," is she? My husband says she is. I say not so. Who's right? -- Cathy Anderson, Morganton, N.C.

A: You are. (Sorry, Mr. Anderson.) Nancy McKeon, most recently of Lifetime's "The Division," played Jo.
