Lewiston

The Village Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 145 N. Fourth St.

The Lewiston-Porter Board of Education will hold a combined business meeting and public hearing on the adopted 2005-06 district budget at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Resource Center on the district's Creek Road campus.

Lockport

The Planning Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday in the Municipal Building, One Locks Plaza. Projects on the agenda include a request to reopen a barber shop at 102 Washington St., to renovate the Lockport Mini Mart at 4 S. Transit St. and three sign requests.

The Common Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Municipal Building.

The Town Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road.

The Board of Education will hold a combined work session and public hearing on the adopted 2005-06 district budget at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the district administrative offices, 130 Beattie Ave.

Newfane

A public hearing on the adopted 2005-06 school district budget will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Newfane Middle School auditorium, 2700 Transit Road.

Also this week:

School Superintendent James N. Mills will hold a public information session on the adopted 2005-06 school district budget at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Newfane Early Childhood Center on Godfrey Road.

Mills will hold a public information session on the adopted budget at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Newfane Elementary School cafeteria, 2709 Transit Road.

Town of Niagara

The Town Board will meet in a work session at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall, 7105 Lockport Road.

Niagara County

The County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Courthouse, Park Avenue and Hawley Street, Lockport. Agenda is to include a resolution to withdraw the county's lawsuit against Niagara Falls over casino revenue.

The County Legislature Community Safety and Security Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Public Safety Training Center, 5574 Niagara St. Extension, Lockport.

Niagara Falls

The City Council will meet at 4 and 7 p.m. Monday for a work session and regular meeting, respectively, both in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 745 Main St., Niagara Falls.

The Historic Preservation Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Council-of-the-Whole Room, City Hall. The Board of Education will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the district Annex Building, 606 Sixth St.

The Board of Education will hold a program review session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, followed at 7 by a public hearing on the adopted 2005-06 district budget. Both sessions will be in the Niagara Falls High School amphitheater, 4455 Porter Road.

Pendleton

The Town Board will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd.

Royalton

The Royalton-Hartland Board of Education will hold a business meeting along with a public hearing on the adopted 2005-06 district budget at 7 p.m. Thursday in Gasport Elementary School, 4500 Orchard Place.

Wilson

The public is invited to hear the eight candidates running for three Board of Education seats in the May 17 elections at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Wilson High School auditorium.
