Rose F. Delmonto, a legal secretary for 72 years, died Thursday in ElderWood Health Care at Heathwood, Amherst after a long illness. She was 99.
Miss Delmonto was a bookkeeper at Delmonto Paving Co., a family business, before working as a legal secretary for the late Abraham Carrel from 1922-29. For the next 65 years, she was legal secretary for the late Isador Setel and then his son, Eugene Setel.
Miss Delmonto, who lived in Buffalo, graduated from School 59 and the Hurst Business School. She was past president of the Aquila Society, a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals for more than 50 years, and a member of St. Joseph University Catholic Church and its senior citizens group.
Survivors include a sister, Carmela Buckman of Cheektowaga, and a brother, Donato of the Town of Boston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. today in St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main St. Burial will be in United German and French Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
