HEAVILY DAMAGED CAR LEADS TO DWI CHARGE

Niagara County sheriff's deputies say they found a car with extensive damages in the yard at 3745 Lockport-Olcott Road early Thursday.

Deputies charged the driver, Shawn Eadie, 26, of Lake Avenue with driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to keep right. Eadie was taken to Erie Community Medical Center by the Wrights Corners Fire Company ambulance and was evaluated for a possible head injury.

An investigation by deputies concluded that the car was traveling southbound shortly before 2 a.m. at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, left the east side of the road and crossed a ditch before going airborne. The car then struck a parked vehicle before coming to rest in the yard, deputies said.
