Audrey Buckley Segebarth of Eden, an avid amateur artist and lifelong area resident, died Wednesday at her home following a brief illness. She had celebrated her 86th birthday one day earlier.
Born Audrey Buckley in Buffalo, she graduated from Bennett High School and later from what is now Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Va.
In 1948, Mrs. Segebarth and her husband, Jack, moved to Eden and purchased an 1820 farmhouse that served as a magnet for family and friends during their 64 years of marriage.
A talented artist, Mrs. Segebarth specialized in watercolor and pen and ink.
She was active in local politics and the Welcome Wagon, and throughout her life enjoyed spending summers at her family's Glenwood home. In recent years, she appreciated the company of her cat, Mollie Bee.
Her husband died in October 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Geoff of Kansas City, Mo., and Kim of Cleveland; a daughter, Kristen of Buffalo; and one granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 20 in the Roycroft Inn, 20 S. Grove St., East Aurora. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Fredonia.
