SHOPLIFTER WHO BIT GUARD ADMITS TO LESSER CHARGE

A shoplifter who tussled with a store security guard pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted third-degree robbery Wednesday in Niagara County Court.

Deon L. Johnson, 38, of 10th Street, Niagara Falls, is to be sentenced June 22 by Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza.

Assistant District Attorney James P. Hewitt III said that on Nov. 9, Johnson wheeled a cart of merchandise out of A.J. Wright, 7414 Niagara Falls Blvd., without paying for it.

A security guard, Patricia Tadusz, chased Johnson into the parking lot and tried to retrieve the goods. During a resulting altercation, Tadusz was bitten on the finger, Hewitt said.
