A 23-year-old Burgard Place man was shot Wednesday night -- the third time he has been shot in just over a year.
Larry Kemp suffered a gunshot wound to the top of his head. He was treated in the emergency of Erie County Medical Center and released.
Homicide Squad Detective Sgt. Daniel Figueroa said Kemp was driving on Boehm Place at about 10 p.m. when a man fired several shots at him, one of which struck him in the head. Police said Kemp drove himself to the hospital.
On April 17, Kemp was shot in the back of the neck in front of his Burgard Place home.
At the time, Homicide Squad detectives said the shooting might be in retaliation for the murder of Daryl M. Smith, 26, who was gunned down April 16 on Genesee Street, near Bailey Avenue and Burgard Place.
Detectives declined to comment on whether the latest shooting is related to the Smith killing.
On Feb. 11, 2004, Kemp was shot in the neck in a drive-by incident on Burgard.
