Buffalo businessman Gerhardt J. Yaskow says he will announce his candidacy for Albert DeBenedetti's 6th District seat in the Erie County Legislature at 10 a.m. Friday on the steps of County Hall on Franklin Street.
Yaskow says he will run as a pro-development candidate, supporting efforts "to create jobs, jobs and more jobs." He also says he favors a leaner, less costly government structure.
Yaskow, 33, a former legislative assistant to Alfred T. Coppola during his tenure as a state senator, ran unsuccessfully for County Legislature in 2001. He co-owns Dixon Enterprises, a property management company.
