A city resident was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday after a high-speed chase with police that ended in the Town of Ellicott.
It started on Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown and ended in the Town of Ellicott.
Police arrested Ted Casler, 24, of Ivystone Drive, on charges of felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to comply and speeding.
Authorities said that Casler failed to stop at a red light on Fluvanna Avenue at North Main Street, crossed the center line and nearly hit a tractor-trailer before speeding off with police in pursuit.
He finally pulled over in the Town of Ellicott, authorities said. There were four passengers in Casler's vehicle. They were not charged and no injuries were reported.
Jamestown police were assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, Town of Ellicott Police Department and State Police.
