FAREWELL CONCERT: The Kenmore East High School Company of Song will present a 25th anniversary "One Last Time" revue in honor of departing Director Tim Doyle, at 7:30 p.m. April 29 and 30 in the school at 350 Fries Road. Tickets at the door are $3. Call 874-8402. The group went on a concert tour to Chicago April 14 to 17 and performed a pre-show concert at Kleinhans Music Hall for the April 22 Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's Audra McDonald concert.

VOLUNTEERS HONORED: Four teenagers, chosen from nearly 200 nominees, were honored at the United Way's recent Community Hero Awards ceremony at the Buffalo Convention Center. Winner of the $1,500 scholarship was Sara Jowsey, who volunteers at Erie County Medical Center where she assists patients and staff and helps keep the volunteer office organized. During one Christmas break, she organized a holiday party for rehabilitation patients. Finalists in the youth category were Ashley and Brittany Kruse, 14-year-old twins from East Aurora, who were honored for their book drive and fund-raising work for Compass House, and Darcie Hancock, a freshman at Notre Dame High School in Batavia, honored for launching "Animal Associates: A Club for Kids Who Care," an animal advocacy organization which has raised more than $3,000 in cash and in-kind donations for organizations that work with animals. ECMC receives a $1,500 donation, and agencies assisted by finalists both receive $500.

LANCASTER ART FESTIVAL: The Lancaster Schools' Art Department will present the "Festival of Arts" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at the Lancaster Opera House, 21 Central Avenue. "Living Masterpieces" will be performed at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Hands-on workshops will be held at 10, noon and 2 p.m. Art work by students and teachers will be displayed all day. It's free.

PHOTOS SOUGHT: High school students from Western New York are invited to enter mounted or framed photos in the 11th annual High School Juried Photo Exhibit at Villa Maria College. There is a $1 fee per piece. Deadline for entries is May 13. The show will open with a reception at 5:30 p.m. May 20. Send mounted or framed photos, labeled on the back with student name, home address, high school, grade, teacher, the $1 entry fee and self-addressed, stamped return envelope (for return of photo) to Laura Snyder/Photography Program Coordinator/Villa Maria College Art Department/240 Pine Ridge Road/Buffalo, N.Y. 14225.

BAND AUDITION: High school students are invited to apply to audition for the 2005 America's fair Pepsi-Cola Marching Band on May 23 at the Agri-Center on the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. Students who play clarinet, flute, piccolo, sax, cymbals, trumpet, bass drum, snare drum, trombone, tuba, bells, French horn, sousaphone, mellophone, quads or euphonium are welcome. Pick up an application from high school music teachers or call 648-9733, Ext. 412, for information. Applications for the audition are due by May 2.
