MAN WITH BOGUS MONEY GETS 4 WEEKENDS IN JAIL

A John Street man was sentenced Tuesday to four weekends in jail and three years' probation for having a counterfeit $100 bill in his possession June 11.

Melvin A. Hardy, 21, had pleaded guilty before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza to third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

In another sentencing, Judge Peter L. Broderick Sr. placed Justin T. Martin, 32, of Prospect Street, on interim probation for six months for attempted third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Martin was charged with having a stolen handgun Sept. 12 in Lockport.
