TWO MEN ARE CHARGED IN PHARMACY BURGLARY

Alfred police said they caught two men attempting to steal drugs from Alfred Pharmacy, 36 N. Main St., at 1:05 a.m. Monday.

Andrew T. Roy, 19, and Albert I. Roy, 22, brothers from Odessa, Schuyler County, are accused of attempting to steal drugs including OxyCcntin, Oxycodone, morphine and Ritalin, valued at $27,000 ($100,000 on the street). Police said they discovered the break-in after the store's burglar alarm sounded, and they found the brothers hiding in the rafters of the store.

Police charged each of the Roys with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree burglary, first-degree conspiracy, third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.

Alfred Village Justice Heidi Burdick arraigned the two and committed them to the Allegany County Jail in Belmont in lieu of $25,000 bail each.
