The Village Board unanimously approved an $8.1 million budget for 2005-06 Monday night. The tax rate has been set at $28.60 per $1,000 assessed valuation. The fiscal year begins June 1.
The board also voted to advertise for bids for the Lowell Place drainage improvement project. Bids must be returned by 11 a.m. May 25 to the village clerk's office.
Bids also will be advertised for Village Hall roof reconstruction and structural repairs. These bids must be returned by 2 p.m. May 9 to the village clerk's office.
The Kandey Co. of West Seneca was awarded the bid for the West Main Street water main replacement project for a total of $78,237.
Mayor Frank Pagano appointed Ronald Johnson of Cassadaga, currently a Pomfret town justice, as acting village justice until the end of May.
There will be a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. June 6 to discuss parking in the village. A proposed plan is on file in the village clerk's office.
