Once again Erie County legislators have shown their ignorance for the good of the general public. Keeping the county's park system closed, while Buffalo's parks remain open and the county golf courses are restored, shows their inability.
It angers me to think that we pay our taxes in February and already the county has to borrow money to meet its obligations. Obviously, paying the interest on this borrowing of money would be more than enough for the county parks to reopen.
Where, oh where, has the common sense in our elected legislators gone? They have missed the point and seem unable to solve the problems. If a $2 fee was added to the cost for the golfers and it solved the problem, then a $2 fee can be added to have the county parks opened, too. In the interest of families with children and the rest of us who enjoy the parks, I beseech them to find a way.
