Rozella E. McKeating of Buffalo, an insurance underwriter and customer service representative for more than 40 years, died at home in South Buffalo on Saturday after a long illness. She was 60.
Born Rozella B. Benedict in Buffalo, she graduated from Infant of Prague School, Maryvale Senior High School and Bryant & Stratton.
She began working in the insurance industry in 1962, after graduating from Bryant & Stratton and obtaining her agent's license. She worked for John H. Brogan Co., Exchange Mutual Insurance, Republic Insurance, Hartford Insurance, Yeager and Durant Insurance Agency, SH Gow & Co., Keller & Co., George H. Kreiner Insurance, and the Clark Goetzmann Insurance Agency. Her longest stint, 23 years, was with Yeager & Durant Insurance.
She was a former member and president of the Parish Council of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Clarence Center, and a member of the Mission Team of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in South Buffalo.
She has lived in South Buffalo for the past 20 years. Her husband of 37 years, Michael P. McKeating, is an ordained deacon.
She loved to cook, bake and travel. She visited Ireland, France and Puerto Rico, as well as many parts of the United States and Canada.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Patrick M. of Milwaukee; a daughter, Kate M. McKeating of Buffalo; a sister, Barbara B. Bird of North Collins; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Martin of Tours Church, 1140 Abbott Road. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville.
