NIAGARA COUNTY MEETINGS AND HEARINGS THIS WEEK

Barker

The School Board will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday to vote on the 2005-06 BOCES budget in the district administrative offices, Haight and Quaker roads.

Lewiston

The Village Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 145 N. Fourth St. On the agenda will be plans for the Gardens of Oxbow subdivision; a special Village Board meeting follows at 6:30.

The Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, 1375 Ridge Road.

The Lewiston-Porter School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Resource Center on the district's Creek Road campus. The board also will vote on the 2005-06 Orleans Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services budget.

Lockport

The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building, One Locks Plaza.

The Common Council will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Municipal Building. Committee of the Whole work session.

Newfane

The School Board will hold a business meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Newfane High School library, One Panther Drive.

Also this week:

The School Board will vote on the BOCES administrative budget for 2005-06 at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Newfane Early Childhood Center on Godfrey Road.

The Town Board will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 2896 Transit Road.

Niagara County

The County Legislature Public Works Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Public Safety Training Center, 5574 Niagara St. Extension, Lockport.

The County Legislature Administration Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Public Safety Training Center.

The Industrial Development Agency board will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the IDA offices, 6311 Inducon Corporate Drive, Wheatfield. The board is to review the IDA's 2004 audit and approve a 15-year tax break for MotoRad of America's new plant on Walmore Road in Wheatfield.

The Board of Health will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Public Safety Training Center.

Niagara Falls

The City Council will hold a special work session to discuss the concession agreement for the Greens Restaurant at Hyde Park Golf Course at 4 p.m. Monday in the Council-of-the-Whole Room at City Hall, 745 Main St.

The School Board will hold its monthly business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Niagara Falls High School amphitheater, 4455 Porter Road. The board also will vote on the 2005-006 BOCES budget.

The Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Council Chambers in City Hall.

The Library Board will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the second-floor conference room in Earl W. Brydges Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main St.

Pendleton

The Town Board will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd., for residents along Washington and Monroe streets and East Canal Road who may be interested in installing sewers in the neighborhood.

The Starpoint School Board will meet at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday in the Starpoint Middle School board conference room on the district's Mapleton Road Campus. The board will vote on the 2005-06 BOCES budget at that business meeting.

Royalton

The Royalton-Hartland School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the district administrative offices on State Street to vote on the 2005-06 BOCES' budget.

The Royalton-Hartland School Board will hold a business meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in Middleport Elementary School, 78 State St.

Youngstown

The Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Village Hall, 240 Lockport St. Final approval of the $1.57 million 2006 budget is on the agenda. Tax rates are expected to remain stable at $6.44 per $1,000 of assessed property value, down less than a thousandth of a penny, from the 2005 rate.
