Services for Army E-4 Specialist Wesley S. Gordon will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Belfast Central School gymnasium, 1 King St. Burial, with military honors, will be in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast.
He died Tuesday in a training accident at Fort Riley, Kan. He was 19.
Born in Belfast, one of seven children, he lived most of his life in the Fillmore area and was a 2004 graduate of Fillmore Central High School, where he played soccer, basketball and baseball.
His family said he always wanted to serve in the military. As a high school junior, he attended basic training. He joined the Army after graduation, intending to become a career soldier.
He attended Belfast First Baptist Church.
He and his high school sweetheart, the former Lesly S. Sebree, were married last May 14.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Blair D., at home; his father, Edward F. of Fillmore; his mother, Marion S. of Belfast; three brothers, Eddie F. of Fillmore and Daniel J. and Timothy J., both of Belfast; three sisters, Barbara R., Rebecca A. and Elizabeth M., all of Belfast; and his maternal grandparents, Dr. Stephen and Barbara Spink of Belfast.
