Rita M. Raidy, a retired schoolteacher, died Thursday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. She was 91.
The former Rita Bero was born in Massena and went to school in Malone. She graduated from Plattsburgh State College in 1936.
Mrs. Raidy lived in Buffalo and Springfield, Mo., before moving to Niagara Falls in 1954.
She was an elementary school teacher for 16 years in the Niagara Falls School District, mostly at the 60th Street School. She retired in 1977.
Mrs. Raidy was an active member of St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church, its Eucharist Adoration Society, Altar and Rosary Society and Bishop's Committee. She also was a member of New York State and Western New York Retired Teachers associations.
Her husband, Clarence E., died in 1994.
She is survived by a daughter, Maureen of Grand Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Ave., with prayers at 9 in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. and entombment in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Lewiston.
