It's so very nice to see some local business owners take unfortunate circumstances and make them work in their favor. Tucker and Erin Curtin of the Steer and Lake Effect Diner have their restaurants blocked by the construction taking place along Main Street. They could have sat back and hoped their businesses wouldn't suffer.
Instead, they took action and put clever signs along the construction site in front of their buildings inviting stalled motorists to take a break. The official-looking road signs are really funny, and the advertising will probably keep their businesses profitable while their curbs are being improved. What a great example of making the most of a difficult situation.
