DONALD W. CHUDYK, AEROSPACE ENGINEER
FEB. 23, 1935 -- APRIL 20, 2005

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald W. Chudyk will be offered at 9 a.m. today in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 129 Laverack Ave., Lancaster, following prayers at 8:15 in Edward J. Cichon Funeral Home, 4929 Broadway, Depew. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca.

Mr. Chudyk, of West Seneca, an aerospace engineer, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital. He was 70.

Born in Canada, Mr. Chudyk lived most of his life in the Buffalo area. He received an associate's degree from Northrup University and then worked for more than 30 years at Calspan Corp. in Cheektowaga.

His passion for aeronautics dominated his hobbies, too, as he was a radio-controlled aircraft enthusiast. He was a member of the Flying Knights.

Mr. Chudyk's wife, the former Emily Kreliszewski, died in 1989.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory of Mendon and Eric of Lancaster; a brother, Melvin of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren.
