Everyone in and around Buffalo knows that there are problems that need to be addressed. Yet what needs to be attended to first is the leadership in Buffalo.
The Erie County budget, which has seemingly affected everyone in the area, is just one of the many great examples of this lack of leadership. On April 15, County Executive Joel Giambra said that he won't endorse Mayor Anthony Masiello if he runs for another term. How are our problems going to be fixed if two of the highest decision-makers in Buffalo can't settle their differences?
On a smaller-scale, Orchard Park School Superintendent Paul Grekalski was suspended after 39 calls to escort services and sex chat lines were made on his district-issued cell phone. This is just one more example of the leadership that is lacking in Buffalo. If this is not addressed immediately, no truly visible problems will be corrected in Buffalo for years to come.
